Important results from the project
A National Research and Innovation Agenda (NRIA) was presented in 2011, as an initiative from industry. The goal of this project was to get a wider support, and to develop the recommendations of this NRIA. Material from the projects in cybersecurity and ICT has been instrumental to get a broad coverage of the technology needed to develop Swedish industry in the rapidly growing international market of security solutions.
Expected long term effects
To strengthen the Swedish innovation system and provide national industry with new business opportunities in the rapidly growing Security market, we suggest to coordinate and focus our scarce resources: 1. Prioritize four strategic research areas in the ICT area: sensor technology, communication technology, interoperability and cuber security. 2. Dedicated programmes to strengthen the central functions of the innovation system. 3. National coordination that decreases the lead time and maximizes the yield of national and international research funding.
Approach and implementation
NRIA 2011 was an initiative from the Swedish industry. This project took over the result and material from this work, that included about 20 workshops spread over one year. The projects in Cybersecurity and ICT were instrumental for this work. The work was performed in a series of open workshops coordinated by a smaller group of people representing these three agendas.
