Important results from the project
Significant progress was achieved toward building a long-term collaboration between RISE & key actors in Singapore within quantum science & innovation. For the prestudy, three initial challenges were defined & further developed in the area of quantum communications, quantum sensing & imaging, and quantum computing for predicting material & component reliability. These concepts were presented in person in Singapore & are under discussion for collaboration with the Singaporean quantum ecosystem.
Expected long term effects
By connecting the two countries quantum communities and ecosystems in a broad way, Sweden can benefit from lessons learned in Singapore to accelerate the Swedish national quantum strategy. And by linking the national research institutes in both countries, each with their own national industrial networks, a base for building international consortiums focused on bringing academic R&D in quantum to the market can be built. In addition, connecting the QKD/QSN networks will benefit both countries.
Approach and implementation
The well-planned & structured delegation visit to Singapore was crucial for initiating collaborative discussions within the quantum field between the two countries.Face-to-face meetings are essential to establishing the necessary relationships for collaboration &should be supported in the future. In addition, the bilaterally organized events & the visit timing with Singapores Quantum Industry Day was positive factors & allowed for effective exposure to the complete Singaporean quantum ecosystem
