Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Aim and objective with the project have been to develop a planning tool in the form of a planning model and to develop recommendations for implementing strategic cycle infrastructure. The project has fulfilled its aim and the tool and recommendations have been disseminated to the users through various channels.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The results of studies in the project showed that the car norm is still strong in Sweden and that this must be broken in order to develop cycling as a competitive means of transport. Nevertheless, the results showed that many planners are aware of what is needed to strengthen cycling and this is also happening in many parts of Sweden. The effects of this project can help strengthen cycling as a means of transport and develop good planning for strategic cycling infrastructure.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project was published in both quantitative and qualitative studies. Through the quantitative study, a model (a tool) for bicycle planning was developed. The qualitative studies analyzed policy documents from the fall cities and conducted a large number of interviews with planners from cities / municipalities and regions who are members of Svenska Cykelstäder. The analysis of the various studies forms the basis for the model and recommendations developed in the project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
