Important results from the project
The aim and objective of the project was to carry out a full-scale evaluation of the insulation material in a model house and develope the company´s IP strategies. The project gave us a very good understanding of the material´s ability compared to the competitors, as well as advantages and disadvantages, which will be a fundamental part in the further development and market introduction of the material. We have gained a deeper understanding of various aspects of full-scale production, installation and concretized the energy savings that arise when using our material compared to competing alternatives.
Expected long term effects
The result from our full-scale evaluation of the insulation material shows that we have a very good lambda value that contributes to a significant energy saving compared to competing alternatives. The evaluation shows that the installation process of our material is very simple and does not require any experience or safety measures. The evaluation also shows that the manufacturing process can maintain energy efficiency and simplicity when manufacturing the material, even on a larger scale, and that the recycling process is feasible in practice, regardless of scale.
Approach and implementation
The setup and implementation was well planned in the early stages and based on successive evaluations, the results of which were the basis for the next evaluation. The manufacturing process was evaluated first, followed by evaluation of the installation process in a model house, which was the basis for the evaluation of the energy savings and fire resistance. Finally, we evaluated the recycling process. We chose this setup in order to achieve a good work pace and evaluated from the ground up to the installed final product, instead of the other way around.
