Call Collaborations with the US in AI, digital infrastructure and cyber security

Important results from the project

The project established a strategic collaboration between NodeX Cloud AB and Prof. Roman Beck at Bentley University. All main deliverables were achieved: a plan for a 24-month technology roadmap with governance integration, a joint white paper, and two signed Letters of Intent from US companies — enabling the Step 2 application. A broad network was built in Boston and San Francisco across finance, healthcare, and cybersecurity.

Expected long term effects

Long-term, the project positions Sweden as a leader in sovereign, GDPR-compliant decentralised cloud infrastructure and builds a transatlantic bridge to the US market (>USD 73 bn). Expected effects: reduced ransomware risk, a European alternative to US hyperscalers, cost and energy reductions, and 50+ high-skilled jobs in Skåne by 2028. The Bentley collaboration strengthens Swedish innovation exports and contributes to ISO/IEEE standardisation.

Approach and implementation

The project was delivered in three phases: preparation (planning, market analysis, materials), US stay (intensive collaboration at Bentley and investor/customer meetings in Boston and San Francisco, securing LOIs), and follow-up (finalising the roadmap, white paper, and Step 2 application). CTO Alberto Butera travelled to the US, while CEO Rohon Kundu led the work from Sweden with weekly sessions with Prof. Beck. The timeline was met, and all special conditions were satisfied.
