Important results from the project

Aim and objective with the project was to incorporate the EU´s Mimimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIM) into Digg´s recommendations and other artefacts, thereby ensuring national governance of MIMs. These objectives have been achieved through text suggestions for Digg´s guidelines as well as through new material in various places in Sveriges Dataportal. Also, the project contributed to the further development of MIMs at EU level, thanks to the involvement of a national digitalisation agency.

Expected long term effects

MIMs are EU´s way of supporting municipalities with the technical aspects around interoperability - which will be required in upcoming legislation and dataspaces. Since the municipalities do not get the help they need from their "industry organization" SKR, MIMs may well be their best tool today - to get both the departments and politicians on board. It is thus important that MIMs are seen nationally, ie with Digg as the sender, to give MIMs higher legitimacy within the municipal sphere.

Approach and implementation

The project had approximately 15 joint meetings of 1.5 hours, where RISE prepared an outline for discussions before each meeting. In that way, we got to know each other well, and everyone had slightly different areas of expertise. The last third of the discussions was devoted to production in the way that RISE suggested practical text suggestions that were discussed in groups. Digg´s main tasks were thus to contribute actively at all meetings and at the end implement the proposed measures.
