Important results from the project

The National ATMP Coordination project has made good progress towards the goal of establishing a sustainable, centralized coordination function for ATMP. A steering and coordination group with broad representation from academia, healthcare and industry has enabled national anchoring. Four thematic working groups focus on manufacturing, education, healthcare integration and funding and drive continued strategic development.

Expected long term effects

The project´s results are expected to significantly strengthen Sweden´s position within ATMP. By establishing a national coordination function, it has laid the foundation for a more efficient and sustainable collaboration between healthcare, academia and industry. In the long term, this means increased national preparedness for clinical trials, improved patient access to treatments, support for sustainable infrastructure and skills supply, and increased international competitiveness.

Approach and implementation

The project was structured around a steering group for strategic management and a coordination group for operational implementation, both with representatives from academia, healthcare and industry. Four thematic working groups were formed with a focus on manufacturing, education, implementation in healthcare and funding. The current structure enables strong collaboration, broad stakeholder engagement and coordination with other national initiatives, ensuring a stable basis for long-term impact.
