Important results from the project

The goal of this project was to investigate if our patent-pending technique is usable for studies relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. We have used NSM to study samples supplied by our collaborator operating in the drug development industry. During this collaboration we concluded that NSM could be used to study samples with a relevant size. We also identified a new possible sample type that is of interest to the pharmaceutical industry and began studies of such samples.

Expected long term effects

The results of this project were that we could verify that our technology could be used to investigate samples relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, it provided new insights into where the targeted industry is lacking methods to study their samples. Based on this project, we have identified our MVP, have come closer to a commercial product, and plan to make our first sales of an instrument to early adopters in 2022.

Approach and implementation

Through close collaboration with our partner, we have tested a number of samples and verified that our technology can be used to obtain relevant information. This was done by our partner sending us samples which we then performed measurements on. During these measurements, we realized that it would have been beneficial if we could instead install an instrument directly with our potential customers. The collaboration also led to a better insight into the pharmaceutical industry, what they lack in their current methods, and in what ways our method could be used the best way.
