Important results from the project

Yes, the goals of the planning project were fully met. The project resulted in Lund University taking a leading role in the innovation work within Horizon Europe-projektet LEAPS-TECH. An important results is that LU is now responsible for coordinating the innovation catalyst, including hackathons and innovation mapping. There will be structures for capacity building and industry collaboration, which strengthens LU´s strategic position within European research infrastructure.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to have long-term impacts by strengthening the innovation capacity of the LEAPS network. Structures for collaboration between researchers, engineers, industry and users promote the development of new technologies and solutions, contribute to broadening the supplier base and increase technological sovereignty. The results will be integrated into updates of LEAPS Technology Roadmap and contribute to policy development and funding strategies at EU level.

Approach and implementation

The planning project was carried out according to plan and within the timeframe: development of innovation methodology, coordination with international partners, and preparation of LU´s role in WP8. The collaboration with LEAPS partners DESY, ALBA, EuXFEL, SOLARIS and ELETTRA worked very well. No major obstacles or unexpected events arose, but some flexibility was required in budget allocation and division of labor, which lays a solid foundation for the upcoming EU project.
