Important results from the project
The project has through computer simulations (FDS) given very good understanding of how different parameters can affect a fire. Due to findings from the project the company is in very strong and unique position regarding product development and the use of the product.
Expected long term effects
One result from the project has led to a new product, which is currently under validation. Another result is that the company henceforth can meet competition is an adequate way, f.i. been able to show which cooling and extinguishing effect(s) you can get with different systems.
Approach and implementation
The project was divided into four areas; WP1, prestudy and selection of suitable software for simulation. WP2, selection of different boundary conditions and performing of different computer simulations. It was decided to perfom simulations in three different compartments, with different ventilations and fire loads. WP3, practical tests. To verify and validate the computer simulations practical experiments were performed at SÄRF Fire & Rescue Service. The seleced geometry and fire load was the same as one of the computer simulations.
