Purpose and goal

Hydrogen Logistics, HyLo, is a system demonstration project that for the first time takes a larger number of hydrogen-powered trucks from Scania and Volvo out into concrete customer applications. Different users of vehicles in real operation generate experience and knowledge. The entire value chain for hydrogen logistics participates in HyLo; hydrogen manufacturers, filling station owners, vehicle manufacturers, hauliers and transport buyers. HyLo works with cost reductions to enable scale-up.

Expected effects and result

Examples of HyLo objectives: Demonstrate climate-efficient, scalable and resilient transportation. At least 20 hydrogen trucks with at least three different types of powertrains will be put into actual operation through HyLo at at least ten different logistics operators in Sweden. Measure attitudes and knowledge of hydrogen as a fuel Test three different ways to distribute hydrogen from production to filling station. Investigate in practice how a hydrogen filling stn can be made more resilient.

Planned approach and implementation

HyLo comprises around thirty actors with different roles in the hydrogen value chain. They work closely together with concrete vehicle operation as the core of the project. Experience and knowledge are shared between the parties in horizontal work packages and also externally, both by making the vehicles visible on the roads and through targeted communication efforts. The system demonstration lasts for three years and hydrogen-powered vehicles with combustion engines or fuel cells.
