Important results from the project

The project has promoted innovation in digital health by delivering a large number of support services to both SMEs and the public sector. Over 3 years, HDS has delivered approximately 3,200 services to 793 SMEs and 325 public actors, established a national ecosystem in health data and jointly developed new tools and working methods (e.g. HDS Gateway, HDS Legal Toolbox, test panels). This shows that the support structure worked according to the vision and has created concrete value.

Expected long term effects

Some of the long-term effects expected are (I) strengthened regional structures for demand, development and implementation of new digital and sustainable solutions for the use of health data, (II) an increased absorption capacity in the public sector to receive, implement and scale digital solutions, (III) a higher innovation and competitiveness of Swedish SMEs, (IV) and reduced regional differences in how health data is used.

Approach and implementation

The project implementation is based on a consortium of 18 established partners from academia, regions and innovation environments who, through the one-stop-shop concept, have offered support and services that enable small and medium-sized enterprises to collaborate with the public sector to develop new digital health and welfare services; where testing and validation, early funding and knowledge support are some of the areas of activity. The project has progressed according to plan.
