Important results from the project

Yes, the project met its objective. Preparations, stay in the US and follow-up work were carried out as planned and resulted in more qualified meetings than targeted, two concrete project tracks, pilot scheme with US airport, ecosystem map and draft stage 2-proposal. In addition, broader networks emerged within AI, edge technology and investors, as well as spinoff interest from railways, logistics and other critical infrastructure – which strengthens the long-term impact of the project.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, Flox Edge will be established as a standard component for wildlife management at US airports, with the spread to railways, logistics and other critical infrastructure. The effects include fewer wildlife incidents, increased traffic safety, reduced emissions from disturbances and strengthened Swedish AI exports and international positioning in industrially applied AI.

Approach and implementation

In the preparation phase, American actors were mapped, pitch material was developed and meetings were booked. During a stay of approximately one month in the USA, the project management participated in an international AI and robotics conference, held pre-booked meetings with airports and workshops with technology, research and investor actors. The follow-up work included digital follow-up meetings, concept notes and drafts of the stage 2 proposal with work packages.
