Important results from the project

Development, integration, and validation of the demonstrator and measurement methodology were completed as planned. The project delivered new capability for 100+ GHz hardware design and system-level characterization and strengthened university–industry collaboration. The demonstrator will continue to be used in Chalmers’ THz chamber, and the 2025 measurement campaign seeded a joint Vinnova infrastructure-grant proposal (Chalmers–Bluetest).

Expected long term effects

The project leaves 100+ GHz design/integration/validation capability: reusable tools/workflows, upgraded OTA measurement infrastructure, and a demonstrator that will continue to be used in Chalmers’ THz chamber. It also strengthens the university-industry network, accelerating follow-on projects and Swedish leadership in 6G/radar innovation. New collaborations include ML-assisted antenna/MMIC design (Chalmers/Ericsson) and LTCC-based mm-wave antenna array design (Chalmers/Antenna Company, NL).

Approach and implementation

The project developed as intended, and the collaboration between universities and industry partners worked very well. Fabrication delays led to a tighter schedule toward the end of the project, but the plan and outcomes were maintained. The project strengthened the partnership, produced reusable workflows and tools, and built momentum for follow-on proposals. Knowledge and methods are already being applied in other company projects.
