Important results from the project

The overall objective of the project was to establish a leading example of how the Swedish sports movement contributes to integration, and through this inspire clubs and federations across the country. One such example is now established in Lund, through the “Prisma Lund” programme which is run by IK Eos in close collaboration with the Lund municipality. Skånes Basketbollförbunds´s programme "Hemmaplan" has been developed through the project and is currently running activities in five municipalities in Skåne, with good potential for continued upscaling.

Expected long term effects

Effects of the project so far, are that the solutions have been strengthened in terms of volume, quality and robustness, in line with the ambition of becoming nationally leading examples. One of several good results is that Prisma Lund today has both an IOP and a new Vinnova project together with the Lund municipality. Broader effects regarding public opinion and the direction of the sports movement have not yet been generated as a result of the project, but the work will continue as part of further development and implementations of the solutions.

Approach and implementation

Through the project, three separate solutions have been developed, all of them contributing to improved inclusion and equality within the sports movement. The solutions have been highlighted primarily via RF-SISU Skåne to inspire the sports movement, and partners for national upscaling have been sought through collaborations with Save The Children and the Swedish and Västra Götaland basketball federations. The pandemic has been unfortunate in terms of influencing, as it has driven the sports movement towards a "survival mode" with a strong focus on the traditional core business.
