Purpose and goal
The project aims to enable web developers to find errors in their web applications in new and more efficient ways. Many web developers already write browser based tests for their web applications. Our project will connect data from engineers existing tests with other data from underlying systems to make it easier to understand errors that occur in their systems.
Expected effects and result
We expect it to be easier for engineers to work with end to end tests while developing their applications. By showing a combination of data from tests and data from underlying systems, engineers should better understand how their application behaves and how to correct errors when they occur.
Planned approach and implementation
The implementation will partly consist of: - the creation of an open source plugin for the Playwright test framework for collecting test data in the OpenTelemetry format - the creation of an interface in Endform to view the test data - the creation of a system for collecting other data that can be linked to the test data The project is estimated to take four months.
