Important results from the project
The main objective was to develop a software module in beta quality for the analysis of next generation sequencing (NGS) data. The module should be delivered as a module for Qlucore Omics Explorer. The main objective has been achieved and NGS data can be analyzed with Qlucore Omics Explorer. The purpose was that the software module should include functionality that enabled more user friendly analysis for non specialist users and tests shows that this is achieved.
Expected long term effects
The module is still in beta status and other requirements on Qlucore Omics Explorer will mean that the market launch will wait until early 2017 and it is hence to early to measure the results. The expected market effects are continued high and in-line with the original expectations outlined in the application.
Approach and implementation
Market changes have forced changes to the project, the main four areas being increased requirements for Mac and RNA-seq functionality and as a consequence reduced functionality in terms of removed requirements for TRIO analysis as well as analysis of large structural variants. The original planning principle for the project was based on an incremental development model and the model has worked well in adjusting the project content during the course of the work.
