Important results from the project
Hyperspectral images are used more and more for data-driven processes and as input to decision support systems in, for example, forestry and agriculture. The aim is to reduce the consumption of fertilizers, sprays and fuel. In this project, we have used Glana´s new unique hyperspectral sensor and developed a drone-compatible prototype (hardware and software) with high surface coverage to be able to demonstrate the benefits for customers in forestry and agriculture.
Expected long term effects
During the project, a working prototype consisting of Glana´s new sensor together with relevant software has been developed for collecting and processing hyperspectral data from drones. This has been done by combining and adapting existing 3rd party registration software with proprietary software for collection and hyperspectral matching and analysis. This has meant that we are closer to being able to do sales and development projects together with a paying customer.
Approach and implementation
During the project, the team has been strengthened with a CTO who together with the team has been able to develop a prototype for collecting hyperspectral data with drones. After the development phase, this prototype has been used on several occasions for the collection of hyperspectral data on fields and forestry plantations to get closer to a verification of the business model. New contacts have been made during the project and Glana has been able to get involved in new projects to approach pre-production series.
