Purpose and goal
The project has two main objectives: The first objective is to develop a traceable calibration method for calibrating electric field measurement equipment in the frequency range 60 Hz-10 kHz. The second objective is to further develop the existing method for calibrating field measurement equipment for magnetic fields in the frequency range 60 Hz-10 kHz. This is so that a calibration or measurement can be carried out at field strengths relevant to requirements for personal protection.
Expected effects and result
För RISE and the NMI for HF, the project means increased competence by obtaining a more comprehensive calibration service. För Sweden in general, the project creates an expanded national ability to understand, measure and verify electric and magnetic fields in the frequency range. This is beneficial both for Swedish industry in the form of measurement capability and for society as the whole through improved ability to measure the occurrence of high field levels based on the EMF Directive.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is divided into three work packages, each work package consists of one part for E-field probes and one for H-field probes. Since these are two different methods, they will be handled as separate WPs that run in parallel. WP1 is an initial analysis, choice of instrumentation, and analysis of limitations. WP2 is method development, determination of measurement uncertainty budget and calculation of its individual components. WP3 is software development and documentation of the methods.
