Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to improve the mental well-being of parents by creating a service that is more accessible, affordable and tailored for parents compared to currently available services on the market. We are pleased to have developed an AI-coach that is available 24/7 on mobile devices. Additionally, we reduced the cost of proactive mental health by over 90%, making the service accessible to many more companies and individuals. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first service to combine AI with evidence-based mental exercises and tools specifically focused on parents.
Expected long term effects
In addition to developing the AI coach itself, which we successfully accomplished, we aimed to: 1. Recruit companies and individuals for the test. Outcome: We attracted several companies and individuals, totalling 64 test participants. 2. Conduct a test over 10 weeks. Outcome: This test is currently ongoing and will conclude in June. 3. Validate and evaluate the impact on well-being in each group. Outcome: The evaluation will take place in June. Other interesting outcomes: The AI coach has led to increased engagement (DAU/MAU) in the app among our users and has reduced costs by over 90%.
Approach and implementation
Original plan and execution was slightly delayed in the development phase (not uncommon for this type of project). One reason for the delay was that initial user feedback led us to build a somewhat more complex AI service than originally intended. In future projects, we may consider whether this was the right approach or if we should have been more strict regarding development. Recruitment and test execution are proceeding according to plan, and we are satisfied with the number of test participants. The commercial part is requiring more resources than expected due to long lead times.
