Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to develop a digital tool to primarily give girls and women good opportunities to have a good interaction with the horse and thus more fun, increased safety and more long-term development in their riding. In the project, we have investigated how far it is possible to automate the semi-automated "Data-driven seat analysis" which, with the help of motion data in combination with video filming, measures riders´ position in the saddle. We have, in close collaboration with riders at riding schools, developed a prototype where we gradually digitize the service.
Expected long term effects
Together with riders at riding schools, our team has developed, tested and verified a prototype to gradually digitize the semi-automated "Data-driven seat analysis" that was previously tested on about 100 riders. Preliminary results show that it is possible to digitize the service without the quality and customer value deteriorating. This shows that the Rider Analysis service can be used as a complement to improve the rider´s seat and thereby contribute to the rider getting a better interaction with the horse, which leads to better health and fewer accidents.
Approach and implementation
The app “Rider Analysis” has been created where the rider himself collects rider data with the help of the sensors in his mobile. The data is stored in the web-based analysis tool with refined key figures that enable a digital service. The rider receives a written analysis with graphs generated automatically along with tips on exercises to improve the seat. Some tests remain to verify the extent to which the service can be digitized while maintaining quality and customer value. Preliminary analysis show that the service is adaptable for riders of different ages and at different levels.
