Important results from the project

Sivers IMA must be able to specify, design and get first hand access to advanced MMIC circuit for mm-wave applications. The MMIC:s are only intended for use in our own products and will not be made available outside the company. The purpose is to be less dependent on commercial available circuits and to be able to implement such functionality that is important to Sivers IMA line of products. With own IPR:s, unique solutions can be created that add value to the final product and to the user of the final product. Those goals has been fulfilled through the succesful finalisation of this project.

Expected long term effects

As a direct result of the project, Sivers IMA now has access to our own MMIC core functions. Those circuits will be implemented in our products within a year, and will enable us to significantly strengthen our market position compared to our competitors. The acces to several unique and important IPR:s will also enhance our future possibilities.

Approach and implementation

This project has had a clearly defined objective from the start. It has much similarities with a classic development project, even though the technical goals called for much innovative work and research. This research work in particular, has resulted in several unique solutions that will be of great importance for the future product development in Sivers IMA. We have been able to recruite highly specialised personell instead of relying to external consulting, this ensures that the competence remains within the company also in the future.
