Purpose and goal
The aim of the project is to strengthen COSMOS for phase 2 in Horizon Europe-utlysningen HORIZON-CL4-2026-02-MAT-PROD-21 by developing a technically strong phase 1 concept into a coherent, evidence-based and competitive EU proposal. The aim is to complete a high-quality phase 2 proposal that clearly demonstrates scientific excellence, industrial feasibility and potential for industrial uptake.
Expected effects and result
The project will deliver a complete basis for a competitive stage 2 proposal, including in-depth semi-quantitative Safe and Sustainable by Design assessments, life cycle impact, social sustainability and life cycle cost analyses, as well as developed business cases and exploitation strategies. The expected impact is a strengthened EU proposal with an increased likelihood of obtaining funding, thereby contributing to safer and more sustainable material solutions for offshore wind power.
Planned approach and implementation
The work is carried out in three work packages. First, technical and sustainability-related data is collected and in-depth SSbD, LCA, social LCA and LCC analyses are carried out for four innovation tracks in offshore wind power. Then, business cases, exploitation strategies and implementation plans are developed while the stage 2 proposal is completed and quality assured. The project is led by RISE in close collaboration with TNO and the Institut de la Corrosion.
