Important results from the project

The project deepened knowledge about the needs of users, the media market, the media industry needs. Based on this and theories related to the challenge the project developed ideas for public discussions. A needs analysis deepened the understanding of the obstacles and motivations associated with digital and public discussions. Over 300 media users responded to a survey and 36 people participated in focus group interviews. The project has also formed a network of companies with an interest in the area and started development of ideas.

Expected long term effects

1) The project resulted in a comprehensive needs analysis which was developed into personas. A large number of readers have also reported interest in participating in further work. 2) The project has resulted in knowledge of the media market and its business models. The results offers a good starting point for a step 2 application. 3) The project has formed a network of companies with interest in the area and to develop and test solutions. 4) The project has developed a number of concepts and ideas for solutions and illustrated some of the ideas for the next step.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented in four work packages by RISE, Direktpress, Lindholmens Science Park, Södertörns Högskola. Företaget Ifrågasätt contributed with expertise in all work packages. The project process ended with a common idea generation followed by concept development.
