Call Impact Innovation: advising small and medium-sized manufacturing companies on transitioning to net zero

Purpose and goal

The project aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in developing and establishing a strategic approach to sustainability. By applying a life cycle perspective, companies gain a comprehensive understanding of their environmental impact and can identify improvement areas across the entire value chain. The goal is to strengthen their competitiveness, enhance their ability to meet future requirements, and promote the development of circular and resource-efficient solutions.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to increase companies’ understanding of their environmental impact and their ability to identify improvement areas across the value chain. It will strengthen their capacity to work strategically with sustainability from a life cycle perspective and improve preparedness for future regulatory and customer demands. In the long term, the project is expected to enhance competitiveness and support more integrated sustainability practices among SMEs in Sweden.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is based on a competence network for small and medium-sized enterprises in Sweden and offers advisory services, practical support, and knowledge exchange within a life cycle perspective. Participating companies receive individual advisory support and take part in a working group tailored to their needs. They are also given access to training materials throughout the project. The project is led by a project manager and LCA experts from the Swedish Life Cycle Center’s network.
