Important results from the project
COMAS Medical Technologies AB is in a focused development phase where the company is gradually strengthening its technical, regulatory and commercial position ahead of upcoming verification studies, clinical trials and market introduction. The company is developing a medical technology solution for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers and chronic wounds. The goal of developing and submitting a proposal to EUIC for project funding has been achieved.
Expected long term effects
The technical development has reached an advanced level where several important sub-steps have been completed.
The upcoming phase focuses on completing product development and conducting verification and validation studies in preparation for randomized clinical trials. Capital raising is underway to reduce technical and regulatory risks and enable an efficient progression towards clinical evidence and regulatory approval. Vinnova´s funding provides a seal of quality that helps in the process.
Approach and implementation
The project was set up to use external consultants in technical development and grant application expertise for further funding. The objective that were set were largely achieved. We followed the schedule but were slightly delayed due to external factors that affected one of our subcontractors and resulted in personnel changes during the time.
