Important results from the project

The project´s objective was to evaluate and create a systematic approach to establishing and developing sustainable working methods and creating value in Swedish industry on the path towards transitioning to climate-neutral and circular production through resource-efficient and resilient value chains. The project has contributed to learning across industry boundaries, including development of a number of demonstrators to visualize traceability for sustainable value chains.

Expected long term effects

The starting point was that traceability is a prerequisite for the circular economy and that companies need to collaborate with each other and with academic partners to find solutions for sharing product data. During the course of the project, the work has come to focus on preparation for the introduction of digital product passports. Long term effects are that companies are better prepared for upcoming regulations for product passports and competitive advantages based on traceability.

Approach and implementation

The project was characterized by agility in terms of both partners and efforts. At most, the project had 65 active partners and the efforts were implemented in several sub-projects. In order to disseminate results both within and outside the project, all project meetings have been completely open and have also invited related projects to present their results to the project partners. The steering group consisted of five strategic innovation programs representing different industries.
