Important results from the project
Yes, the initial objectives were largely achieved. The project delivered a technical assessment, conducted workshops with key international partners, and defined a concrete plan for the next phase (Stage 2). The goal of establishing a strategically anchored transatlantic collaboration was also fulfilled. In addition, the project created valuable networks and strengthened partnerships, increased alignment on testing and demonstration needs, and improved positioning for future initiatives.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to strengthen Sweden’s long-term competitiveness in AI-based automated mobility by increasing access to leading international expertise and technology. It enables the development of safer, robust, and interoperable systems, and contributes to faster industrialization. Furthermore, it creates conditions for influencing standards and regulations, as well as long-term international collaborations, positioning Sweden as a key player in future automated transport systems.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out according to plan in three phases: technical mapping, international workshops, and development of a roadmap for the next phase. The activities were well balanced and supported goal achievement. The timeline was largely followed with some flexibility. Collaboration worked very well with strong knowledge sharing. Some challenges related to time zones and availability were managed without major impact.
