SMEs in the field of digitalisation participated in the conference. The rating from the participants was high, networking with others interested in sustainable production was important Study visits to production sites at Volvo Group and Aurobay, were fully booked and much appreciated.

Expected long term effects

Collaboration with a Polish university, as well as deepened collaboration with the Advanced Digitalization program and Net Zero Industry and Swedish Metals & Minerals. A spin-off from the successful conference is that the conference in 2025 will collaborate with Net Zero Industry. There is a possibility that the conference may continue as a dissemination channel and collaboration forum between SMEs, large companies, and researchers after the Production Clusters´ internal funding ends in 2028.

Approach and implementation

Coordination time and locality costs in connection with the Production Cluster Conference 2024. The conference had the theme "Intelligent processes towards net-zero manufacturing" and was carried out over two days with key notes interspersed with parallel sessions where industry-relevant project results were presented. Study visits to production sites in Skövde were arranged in collaboration with Volvo Group and Aurobay.
