Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to, during Covid-19, support the public crisis responders in Skåne with needed digital innovation to better support the handling of information and service exchange with businesses and people in the local society. The project has delivered a pre-study, with a needs analysis from a regional perspective, for a regional breakdown of the website krisinformation.se, incl platform (open source on Github) organizing and processes in harmony with the Swedish crisis management system described in “Common grounds”.

Expected long term effects

The project result is a natural part of the crisis management system digitalization and will be further anchored with MSB to secure the result comes to use in the current pandemic. Preparations are made for a national coalition to support all 21 counties to realise the service in collaboration with MSB. The expected effect is that public responsible crisis response actors will live up to their statutory responsibility for accessible crisis communication where citizens and businesses feel included and can be part of a mindful response.

Approach and implementation

The project has been divided in two streams, the iterative development of the service and the strategic work to enable use, long term governance and spreading of the service. The project shows that public innovation, in times of crisis, is possible through cross-sector collaboration and focus on the needs owners needs, put in relation to what is realistic to implement here and now. We have experienced some obstacles, like driving social innovation at the need of speed together with the actors that need it the most but have the least time to do it.
