Important results from the project
The project’s overall goal is to jump-start the new product development that takes advantage of the market opportunity in the genetic counselling. More specifically, it is to build a business case based on thorough market research and user studies. Mockup demos will be designed and created. Artificial technologies will be used to power the product.
Expected long term effects
We have built a business case for AI Powered Digital Assistant in Genetic Counselling based on extensive market research and user studies. A demo has been designed and implemented. We are now ready to move into production. The expected effects are: 1) product will ease the genetic counselling expertise shortage problems at care providers as well as reduce the work load of genetic counsellors so they can meet more patients; 2) It will provide the general public who are concerned about heredity health risks, a wider access to genetic counselling expertise.
Approach and implementation
We have conducted many interviews of the genetic counsellors and experts in clinical genetics. We have also researched and tested products that have components of genetic counselling. These lead to the outcome of the business case, product demo design and implementation.
