About the mission
Vinnova has been commissioned by the government to strengthen Sweden's technology leadership by developing national roadmaps and prioritized policy measures in strategically important technology areas. Here we describe how the work is carried out and summarize the government assignment that forms the basis for the initiative.
This is how the work goes
Through dialogue, surveys and collaboration, Vinnova develops roadmaps and proposals for policy measures to strengthen Swedish technology leadership. The results of this year's work will be presented to the Government Offices on October 3. The documentation will then be updated annually.
The work is based on gathering perspectives from actors who are central to Swedish technology and innovation development. The goal is to reach a consensus on which policy measures are most important to:
- strengthen Swedish competitiveness
- increase the pace of development and scaling up
- clarify who needs to act — state, public authority, region, industry or EU
The work consists of several parts:
- Dialogue meetings with leaders from companies, industries, universities and organisations.
- Review of hundreds of Swedish and international roadmaps, strategies and agendas to identify recurring policy needs.
- AI-based analysis that complements the review and highlights common needs and gaps.
- A survey that gives more actors the opportunity to contribute input.
