      Vinnova participates in this call for proposals together with Forte. Project with Swedish actors seeking funding from Vinnova must include at least one corporate party with a branch or place of business in Sweden in the international consortium. Vinnova can finance companies, academia, the public sector and healthcare providers, institutes and idea-based organisations.

      Vinnova can finance a Swedish party with a maximum of SEK 3 million over three years. If two or a maximum of three Swedish parties are included, Vinnova can finance with a total of SEK 4.5 million.

      The call for proposals is a collaboration between around 30 organizations from 20 countries. The European Commission contributes with co-financing and each participating country is responsible for the costs of its own actors in the granted consortia.

    • The call for proposals supports actors who want to implement and scale up innovative preventive solutions in healthcare. The solutions must be based on knowledge and experience of successfully integrating digital technology. The focus is on secondary, tertiary and quaternary prevention. The importance of involving end users and company participation is highlighted.

      The call for proposals focuses, among other things, on:

      • Validation, adaptation and introduction of innovative models for preventive interventions based on the integration of existing digital and medical technology as well as new data sources.
      • Demonstration and pilot projects for the implementation, improvement and scaling up of already identified prevention methods.
      • Proof of concept that demonstrates the added value of implementing new preventive models in various health and care environments.

      • A maximum of three Swedish organizations can participate in an international consortium. Project with Swedish actors seeking funding from Vinnova must include at least one corporate party with a branch or place of business in Sweden in the international consortium.
      • Vinnova can finance companies, academia, the public sector and healthcare providers, institutes and idea-based organisations.
      • Participant applying for funding must be aSwedish legal person (organization) in Sweden. A Swedish legal person is also equated in this respect with a foreign organization that has a branch or place of business in Sweden.
      • Vinnova finances project with a Swedish partyin a consortium with a maximum of SEK 3 million over 12–36 months, that is, approximately SEK 1 million per year.
      • If two or three Swedish organizationsare part of a consortium of which at least one is a corporate partner, Vinnova can finance the Swedish participation with a maximum of SEK 4.5 million over 3 years, that is, approximately SEK 1.5 million per year.

      • The projects must bring together a wide range of actors between countries, sectors and disciplines to contribute to increased competitiveness and sustainable healthcare.

      Eligible costs

      Our funding takes place through funding.

      Non-state aid is granted to parties that do not carry out economic activities. For example, academia, institutes, idea-based organizations as well as the public sector and healthcare providers. If the activities are included in their non-economic activities, they can be granted with 100 percent aid intensity.

      Funding for organizations that carry out economic activities is covered by rules on state support. The rules govern, among other things, which types of costs and what proportion of them may be covered by funding. The rules apply to large, small and medium-sized companies.

      Funding will be granted with support of § 9 regulation (2015:208) on state support for research and development and innovation, i.e. as support for research and development projects according to Article 25 of the Commission's EU Regulation No. 651/2014 (GBER). The project's activities must constitute industrial research or experimental development.

      Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can also be granted funding with support § 2 p. 2 regulation (2015:208) on state support for research and development and innovation, i.e. as support of minor importance (de minimis support) according to EU Regulation No. 1407/2013. Such funding can be granted with 100 percent aid intensity. Maximum permitted support of minor importance is 300,000 euros per recipient during the last three tax years. Organizations seeking support of minor importance must therefore attach a certificate with proposal, which shows that this eligibility requirements is met.

      Basic prerequisites for a cost to be eligible for support are that it must:

      • Carried by the applicant organization.
      • Be attributable only to the project.
      • Be attributable to the branch's or establishment's activities.
      • Have arisen during the project period.
      • Be determined in accordance with the company's usual accounting principles and good accounting practice.
      • Be in accordance with the company's internal policies and guidelines.

      Accounting for the project costs must be separated from the organization's other activitiesin the accounting of the project parties.

    • A maximum of three Swedish organizations can participate in an international consortium. Vinnova finances project with a Swedish company's partner in a consortium with a maximum of SEK 3 million over three years.

      If two or three Swedish organizations are part of a consortium of which at least one is a company party, Vinnova can finance the Swedish participation with a total of SEK 4.5 million over three years.

    • The assessment of the content of the application is handled by the international secretariat, but in order for the project to be financed by Vinnova, they must meet the following national formal eligibility requirements:

      • All Swedish project parties are legal persons or organizations and listed in Vinnova's portal. At least one of the applicant must be a corporate party.
      • Proposal is written in Swedish or English.
      • The maximum requested amount for a Swedish party is SEK 3,000,000.
      • The maximum requested amount if more than one Swedish organization is seeking funding is SEK 4,500,000.
      • Requested aid intensity must comply with the requirements in section 5. Proposal sent to THCS must be an attached proposal in Vinnova's e-services.
      • Proposal has been received by Vinnova no later than 2 p.m. on 23 May 2024.

      Term for granted funding

      Scientific publication must take place with open access in accordance with Vinnova's instructions.

      For everyone who is granted funding in this the call for proposals the following special conditions also apply:

      • The condition on Project Agreement, General terms and conditions, is considered fulfilled when a consortium agreement is signed by all parties in the international consortium. The Swedish Coordinator must confirm to Vinnova that the agreement has been signed by all parties.

      If you do not follow our term you may be liable for a refund. This also applies if you have been granted funding incorrectly or with an amount that is too high.

    • This is how you apply

      The international proposal must be submitted in the international portal in accordance with the information on the THCS website.

      After proposal has been submitted to THCS, Swedish partners must also submit a proposal to Vinnova, provided that a partner is from a company. I Vinnovas e-tjänster you fill in the mandatory information and attach the THCS proposal as a project description.

      If there are several Swedish organizations in the international consortium, one of the Swedish parties must act as Swedish " coordinator" for the Swedish participation in Vinnova's e-services and distribute the Swedish funding between the Swedish parties.

      If a Swedish party seeks support of minor importance (de minimis), a certificate must be attached to proposal.

      In the supplementary proposal to Vinnova, amounts are stated in Swedish kronor.

      The exchange rate used is the European Commission's exchange rate published in Official Journal (OJ) Serie C on the day of the granting of the grant (Official Journal C series daily view - EUR-Lex (europa.eu)).

      Keep in mind that it takes time to make a proposal. You can start filling in information, save and continue at a later time. When proposal is ready, you mark it as done. You can completely unlock proposal and make changes at any time, right up until the application deadline.

      Please mark proposal well in advance before the call for proposals closes.

      When the call for proposals has closed and proposal has been registered with Vinnova, a confirmation will be sent out by e-mail to you who are responsible for the user account, project manager and company signatory or head of department. It may take a few hours before you receive the email. If you have not received a confirmation by e-mail within 24 hours after the call for proposals has closed, please contact us.

      When the application period has expired, completion of proposalcan only take place at the request of Vinnova.

    • Applications that are submitted to us become public documents, but we do not release information about an individual's business or operating conditions, inventions and research results if it can be assumed that an individual will suffer damage if the information is disclosed.

      Please inform your international consortium that in Sweden the principle of publicity applies and proposal will be made public as above.

    How to apply

    To apply for funding, you need to log in and complete an application form in our eServices portal. The application form contains questions about your project, the participants taking part in the project and your budget. 

    Please allow enough time

    Please keep in mind that it takes time to complete an application. Filling in the templates can take several days, since they're based on analyses you need to do. Therefore, start the application well in advance. You can start filling in your details, then save and continue at a later time.

    When you've completed your application, please mark it as done ("klar"). You can unlock and make changes to your application at any time until the call closes. If you unlock your application, you must mark it as done ("klarmarkera") if you want the application registered when the call closes. 

    This happens when the call for proposals is closed

    When your proposal has been registered, we email a confirmation to the person responsible for the user account as well as to the project manager and the signatory. This may take a few hours after the call for proposals closes. If you have not received a confirmation within 24 hours after the call for proposals closes, please contact us.

    When the call for proposals is closed, you cannot change or fill in any new information. Then you can only supplement your proposal if we ask for it.

    Who can read your proposal?

    Applications submitted to us become public documents. But we do not disclose information about the business, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone will suffer financial damage if the information is shown.

    This means that we must hand over the documents if someone requests them. But we keep confidential the information that we judge could mean financial damage if it is disclosed.
