Cybersecurity for advanced industrial digitalisation

Vinnova opens a call for proposals to develop new cybersecurity solutions linked to the implementation of advanced digitization in the industry. The purpose is to prepare the industry for the cybersecurity challenges that arise when new technologies and working methods are introduced in the business. The digital structural transformation leads, among other things, to an increased dependence between organizations / systems, an increased flexibility in the development of software systems and a higher degree of autonomous processes. In this call we offer support for the development of technologies, processes and other aspects that are important for industrial cybersecurity.

What can you apply for?

The projects will develop solutions for the new cyber security challenges that arise when the industry implements advanced digitization, e.g. very high data rate, system of systems, software defined functions and broad implementation of AI algorithms. Knowledge of how these challenges can be addressed should be included in a final report that can be disseminated openly to Swedish industry.

Who can apply?

The call is aimed at both individual actors and broad actor constellations. The projects must be driven by industrial needs and must include at least one participant with a clear connection to the industry. Applicants can be from business, academia, institutes, public sector or government agencies.

How much can you apply for?

The call´s preliminary budget has been increased to SEK 75 million to meet the large demand for funding. It is possible to apply for SEK 1-10 million per project. Maximum aid intensity per participant is 50-100% of the eligible costs depending on the type of organization.

Important dates

In this call we assess incoming applications on a number of occasions.That's why we've divided this call into several application periods. This means that if you submit your application before the last day of one of these application periods, you can have it assessed close to that date. But you can submit your application at any time until the very last application date. In the timeline you can see the next application period.

  • How to apply

    To apply for funding, you need to log in and complete an application form in our eServices portal. The application form contains questions about your project, the participants taking part in the project and your budget.

    Please allow enough time

    Please keep in mind that it takes time to complete an application. Filling in the templates can take several days, since they're based on analyses you need to do. Therefore, start the application well in advance. You can start filling in your details, then save and continue at a later time.

    When you've completed your application, please mark it as done ("klar"). You can unlock and make changes to your application at any time until the call closes. If you unlock your application, you must mark it as done ("klarmarkera") if you want the application registered when the call closes. 

    This happens when the call is closed

    Once your proposal registered, we will email a confirmation to the person in charge of the user account and to the project manager and the signatory. This may take a few hours after the call is closed.

    When the call is closed, you can not change or fill in any new information. Then you can only complete your proposal if we ask for it.

    Who can read your proposal?

    Applications submitted to us become public documents. But we do not disclose information about the business, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone is suffering financial damage if the information is shown.

    This means that we must release the documents if someone requests them. However, we keep confidential the information that we believe could cause financial damage if it is disclosed.
