Advanced technology develops at a high pace and fundamentally affects society. Området Digital's restructuring at Vinnova supports and strengthens development within enabling digital technology to increase Swedish innovation power.
For example, we finance and enable environments for applied research and investments that will attract and develop excellence in areas such as digital platforms, end-to-end AI, autonomous systems and electronic components and systems.
We also work particularly to strengthen Sweden's innovative power in four transformative technology areas that are expected to fundamentally change our society and business life - AI-Artificial intelligence, 6G, quantum technology and extended reality (XR).
By bringing in more perspectives than the technical and more societal actors, Vinnova enables societal transformation and contributes to Sweden becoming a forerunners in combining green and digital transformation.
Together with industry (Teknikföretagen, ABB, Ericsson and Saab), Vinnova runs the Advanced digitalisationprogram. On behalf of the government, the efforts are scaled up significantly during 2023-2027.
