Important results from the project

The purpose of the Year of Materials was to highlight the importance of materials for the development of society and to create recognition and connection through the logo, website and Facebook page. Events have been listed in the calendar on the project website and highlighted through the Facebook group and upcoming and completed events have been described in press releases. In the innovation competition, three prototypes were produced. These were shown and the winner was selected on stage during the Elmia Subcontractor exhibition.

Expected long term effects

The project has developed a website with a calendar and a Facebook group, where it has published information on material-related events during 2019. This has increased the events´ visibility and thus increased interest in and enthusiasm for materials and its uses. The final contestants and their contributions in the innovation competition were on display and an award ceremony took place on stage during the big trade-fair Elmia Subcontactor.
