Venture Impact Innovation: Designing the places of the future for attractive, accessible and sustainable communities
Call Impact Innovation: Designing the places of the future for attractive, accessible and sustainable communities

Purpose and goal

The project aims to explore a vision of the future where pedestrian traffic and personal energy production are a larger part. By developing a circular energy model, where individuals can store and use their kinetic energy as currency and other incentives, we want to change the way we look at transport and energy to show how we can become more resource-conscious and build communities that promote walking and other physical mobility as a sustainable and natural way of moving in our everyday life.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to contribute to increased awareness of pedestrian traffic´s potential as a sustainable transport choice and create an understanding of how incentives can encourage changed behaviour. Through interactive prototypes and participatory focus groups, insights are gathered how pedestrian traffic can be integrated into urban planning. The project promotes discussions about circular energy, resource awareness, gender equality, social sustainability and biodiversity in Skellefteå

Planned approach and implementation

The project uses scenario crosses and strategic analysis to explore future scenarios and involves the public in dialogue about the future vision. The project is divided into: • Foresight and design • Experiments and events • Dissemination and communication The result will be communicated during Society Expo 2026.
