Important results from the project

The overall goal of the project was two-fold: Part 1 was to scale the existing Walkbeat MVP to support multiple users that will enable field testing and usability tests with pilot customers. Part 2 was to determine the first target market and refine the business and marketing strategy, based on the target group.

Expected long term effects

- The Walkbeat system was successfully scaled and can now handle multiple users. - Usability and performance testing with pilot clients has led to identifying major issues that must be addressed. - Trainers and riding schools have been identified as the first target market with providing Walkbeat analysis as a service. - New strategic collaborations have been started such as with SLU and more are in pipeline. - The pre-launch of Walkbeat Horses is planned in Dec 2020.

Approach and implementation

-The Walkbeat system was scaled by studying and prototyping various cloud-based architectures handing large amounts of real-time data with low-quality internet as a restriction. Stress tests & field tests were conducted to verify the feasibility and performance. -User stories, demos and interviews were conducted with various stakeholders such as vets, farriers, trainers (trot, gallop, dressage, show jumping) and owners. Business canvas was used to identify value & revenue streams. Social media marketing strategy is underway.
