Important results from the project

Urbanéers is a next-generation digital city guide that enables users to explore their surroundings thoroughly and interactively. Our vision is to help people discover hidden gems and local stories, which becomes extremely valuable for the locals to explore deeper where they live, especially under the travel restrictions. The aim of the project is to improve the beta product and achieve a proof of market.

Expected long term effects

With the AR (augmented reality)-based digital city guide, users will get access to high-quality contents and share experience and information with others. This enables them to discover hidden gems and local stories more conveniently. During the project, we improved the beta product with enhanced UX, better stability and higher matching accuracy. Feedbacks from pilot testers are collected and analyzed to help us further iterate the existing solutions and clarify the market positioning in the future.

Approach and implementation

Implementation of the project consists of three parts. Firstly, we further developed our beta App with better stability and usability, and launched it on TestFlight and Google Play Store. Secondly, we improved the algorithm for a higher matching accuracy to find more relevant hidden gems based on personal preferences, location proximity, similarities or common characteristics. Lastly, we refined our branding strategy and initiated a pilot. The feedback from testers are collected and analyzed to help us further improve the functionality and identify the market potential.
