Important results from the project

MIRAI 2.0 is a collaboration between twenty Swedish and Japanese universities within the thematic areas of Sustainability, Materials Sciences, Ageing, AI, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The aim is to extend network and initiate collaboration between two countries. The trip helps us to understand Japanese working and life culture which would help with building trust and enhance communication during collaborations.

Expected long term effects

I visited Swedish embassy in Japan and learned about the funding opportunities between two counties. Afterwards, we had a visit to Waseda University where I learnt about academic working culture and research area. We had in depth discussion about research interest later in Fukuoka. I expect to have a collaboration with Dr. Hiromi at Waseda University in regards to optical oxygen sensor in microfluidic applications.

Approach and implementation

We are still communicating through email about implementation of our ideas. Our group at Lund University focus on investigating effect of soil structure and carbon dynamics on microfluidic. We are interested in using optical sensor in our micro chips. The researchers at Waseda University have expertise in this field and we plan to combine out expertise to create optical oxygen sensor film in our micro chips.
