Important results from the project
Tracklib is a revolutionary online platform where music makers can search, "sample" and license rights to original music, pre-priced and ready to use. Tracklib has fundamentally changed the way music is made. The service has during the project been developed from a commercial beta to a full commercial version offered to all the world´s music producers and hobby musicians. During the project, the catalog of available music, technical infrastructure and user interface has been significantly developed, and the commercialization of the service has been intensified.
Expected long term effects
The platform has been further developed and a subscription model has been introduced. The music catalog now contains 120,000 songs and multitracks. 477 new songs with Tracklib samples have been released, including J. Cole´s "Middle Child" that has received 5x Platina and been streamed more than 1.5 billion times, DJ Khaled´s "Holy Mountain", Mary J. Blige´s "Know" and more. Tracklib collaborates with well-known producers / artists. 128,000 users are registered globally, 130,000 tracks and 550 licenses are sold. Tracklib shall become the market leader in licensing original music.
Approach and implementation
The project has comprised project management, platform and music catalog for professional users and hobby musicians, as well as commercialization. The work has been carried out with employed staff and in a couple of cases consultants who are closely related to, and mainly work for, Tracklib. The project has chiefly performed according to plan, with some lower activity during a period which has been compensated with an extended project period. During the latter part of the project, a capital raising has been carried out to finance accelerated commercialization.
