Venture The strategic innovation programme Electronic Components and Systems:

Purpose and goal

With new technology, create more effective ways to prevent water damage to building materials in buildings, and to meet the requirements of the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket). Goal: Develop a wireless water alarm label, “Thin Film Detector” The production and product costs should be low. The alarm label is produced/assembled in Sweden and benefits Swedish industry. Supported by Swedish research, meets the consumer’s needs for protecting buildings against water damage.

Expected results and effects

The research and innovation project will clarify: How the wireless smart water alarm label will work. The production methods that will be used. The price range should meet the consumer’s expectations. A working prototype must be developed and tested. The submitted patent application must match the function of the water alarm label.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is divided into 5 work packages; 1. Project management, 2. Electronics, 3. Software, 4. Manufacturing, 5. Testing and evaluating, with sub-activities to achieve the established goals. To start with, the focus is on specifying the overall requirements and functionality. Based on the specifications, two phases of prototype development will happen. First phase: Develop the included components. Second phase: Develop a prototype based on experience from the first phase.
