Important results from the project

The project´s objective was a well-functioning systematic sharing of information, interprofessional assessment of needs and less repeating of procedures, aiming for accurate help and support at an early stage. During our process it has become clear that the workflow and framework contributes to fantastic results regarding sharing of information and less repeating, on child and family level. However it is obvious that it is not only the framework itself that produce all outcomes; a transformed mindset and cultural change must occur as well both on an organizational and employee level

Expected long term effects

Backa barnet has contributed to value for children, guardians and employees through sharper focus on the child´s best interests, common terminology and shared views, assigned missions that support children and parents, and increased understanding of other professions’ functions. Employees and guardians say: - Now, the family experience that everyone is in the right place and that everyone WANTS to work together, no one is backing down. - For the first time, various functions found the right timing to meet our child´s needs. The Lead Professional is my energy saver and my sounding board

Approach and implementation

During the entire project, we’ve been applying user-driven innovation to define, examine, target, develop ideas, test and realize working methods, tools and roles. This has been rewarding but also challenging, as the work units are accustomed to implementing already completed models rather than producing such through collaboration. However, it is clear to us that without this approach, we would never have reached our objectives. The input and the experiences from Beteendelabbet when it comes to barriers and triggers in the workflow have been crucial to our successful outcomes.
