Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to develop an educational game for preschool children "Smakplaneten" which playfully allows children to expand their taste preferences. The goal was to have developed and tested a first finished version of Smakplaneten, which by the end of the project had been developed to be used in preschools on a national level.
Expected long term effects
The prototype of Smakplaneten was tested at preschools where nearly 80 children participated. The expected effect that children would like to try more vegetables than otherwise was true. Getting a diploma after finishing the game motivated many children to taste and try new things they otherwise wouldn´t have eaten. The outcome of interviews and questionnaires has enabled us to develop the game so that at the end of the project we have a finished game that can be used by preschools with the goal of contributing to a change in behavior towards a sustainable diet for health and the environment.
Approach and implementation
After a small test, a prototype "Test1" was made, which was tested in several preschools. Interviews were conducted and feedback came from the test groups. The game has been adapted according to the feedback received via interviews and test protocols. A challenge has been to find a printing company that makes games in smaller editions. To keep the cost down, we have used AI to produce images and game plans. Smakplaneten´s project partners have had coordination meetings every week. The collaboration has worked very well and we kept the project plan.
