Purpose and goal
The project explores what happens when the forest is no longer considered a passive resource but an actor that fights back. By depicting future scenarios, risks and goal conflicts, established notions about the logic of forestry are challenged. A game-based dialogue and innovation tool is created to give actors new ways to conduct qualified future dialogues and strengthen their ability to make sustainable decisions in a complex and changing forest system.
Expected effects and result
To develop and disseminate a game-based tool that strengthens dialogue, learning and decision-making for a sustainable and resilient future forest value chain. The goal is to create reflection, discussion and questioning of established assumptions, rather than ready-made solutions. The material should arouse engagement around goal conflicts, division of responsibilities and future scope for action in a sustainable forest value chain.
Planned approach and implementation
The work will be conducted in 3 work packages: 1) needs analysis & format development, 2) development & testing, and 3) project management, communication and dissemination. Development and testing include production of game material (digital and physical), instructions for use and test versions. The work is conducted iteratively with test cycles where target groups and actors are directly involved. The prototype is tested in physical and digital environments, with different actor constellations.
