Important results from the project
RISE has carried out an education in Design thinking and inclusion linked to the mining industry that increase the understanding of the complexity of the Metal Paradox. The training aims to strengthen a long-term competence supply and to increase innovation capacity within the mining industry. The design thinking training consists of exercises from innovation, behavioral science and design methodology. It supports the participants to understand and define the challenge, explore ideas, and visualize concepts that can be evaluated in a group.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in collaborative activities and increased knowledge about the so-called metal paradox. Participating were Science Centers around the country, SMI and regions, Folkuniversitetet, Vinnova, Ramboll, Talga and Sverok.
Approach and implementation
The training was held at the Technical Museum in Stockholm. It was free if charge and included lunch and a fika. During two days the participants showed enthusiasm until the last minute despite an intense schedule. One feedback that appeared in evaluation is that they wanted even more practical work and practice in the techniques. They would also have liked to see more expert input and from several groups including ordinary people who are affected by mining.
