Important results from the project
The aim of the project is to evaluate different ways to organize, operate and ensure the quality of an Information Hub as the fixed point for different types of data made available for re-use and to increase the access of data. An important driver of innovative development of services is based on easily accessible datasets. With the application of open.stockholm.se this project has analyzed how an Information Hub can or should be organized and operated for making data available and encourage high use of data.
Expected long term effects
The project provides guidance on the establishment of an Information Federation and an Information Hub with common publication of data sources from multiple parts. It is fundamental that all data will be made available for download in a controlled way for reuse from one place via the Information Hub. The reports also presents national and international trends in open data, and provides an overview of the laws, regulations and standards that may govern the Information Hub from a Swedish point of view.
Approach and implementation
The project has mainly been carried out in the following activities: City of Stockholm´s Data Portal 2.0 has been developed based on Design Criteria. The Data Portal is also a demonstrator for an Information Hub. The City´s existing data sources has been refined and supplemented. An Information Federation has been established. Important facts and experiences have been incorporated in the reports. A proposed implementation plan for the establishment of an Information Federation with details concerning Information Hub has been presented.
