Important results from the project

The purpose was to bring together six leading industrial companies to explore best practice in the field of skills development in relation to digital technology change, the report documents eleven such examples. Furthermore, a core model for sustainable competence development was developed. During the pandemic, the actions of participating companies around the new challenges that arose were studied and summarized. An appreciated result is the constructive network created as a result of the project, a project that in itself has also developed the "Flagship Model"

Expected long term effects

Participating companies agree that exchange of experience and discussions during the project have contributed to and influenced their own strategy development. "We now have a vision of being paperless 2025, this inspiration came from the very first visit to Sandvik Coromant". The companies in the project have worked in new internal constellations that have come together and developed their own strategic work with skills development in technology change. Participation organizations have gained valuable knowledge about companies´ challenges with competence development.

Approach and implementation

The flagship model means that participating companies are responsible for their respective workshops and to this formulate a number of issues that other participating companies may respond to. In addition to this, the host company shares its "cutting edge story" to give the project team the conditions to formulate best practice. To this have been added external expert elements. The flagship model has worked well for the exchange of experience as well as for constructive dialogues for future development.
