Important results from the project

Projektet TestShare has achieved its objective to find a Singapore-based partner to evaluate CanaryBit´s privacy-preserving data sharing solution in the regulatory sandbox run by Infocomm and Media Development Authority (IMDA). Through the project, CanaryBit established contact with ST Engineering, a global technology and engineering group active in aerospace, smart cities, defense and security. The participants also gained valuable experience in preparing for sandbox projects.

Expected long term effects

An important long-term effect of the project is the experience participants gained from preparing to participate in a project in a regulatory sandbox. An unexpected but very positive side effect of the TestShare project is that CanaryBit´s solution was selected to be evaluated in the regulatory sandbox of the Swedish Data Protection Authority (IMY), in a use case involving CanaryBit, Ericsson and Volvo Group. In the long term, this opens up new business models and commercial opportunities.

Approach and implementation

The project focused mainly on two objectives: (1) to identify a suitable business partner in Singapore who was interested in exploring secure data sharing through a PET sandbox assessment (strict eligibility requirements); (2) to understand the necessary prerequisites – in terms of legal expertise, data quality and data governance expertise – before starting a PET sandbox project. Identifying a partner in Singapore was possible without having to physically travel there.
