Venture Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives
Call Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives, pre-study project 2025

Important results from the project

The pre-study met its objective and identified key needs in healthcare for secure AI development, data sovereignty, 5G/6G communications and advanced computing capacity. The feasibility study shows that a national testbed can become a world leader in testing, clinical validation and certification of digital medical technology solutions according to Swedish and EU eligibility requirements, with secure integration to neighboring systems.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to have long-term impacts by establishing a national system capability where advanced computing, 5G/6G communication and data sharing are integrated with the physical processes of healthcare. This enables secure, scalable and regulatory-approved digital services, faster clinical validation and a cohesive digital-physical value chain that strengthens the development capacity of the entire healthcare system.

Approach and implementation

The pre-study was completed according to plan through needs analysis, technical mapping and system analysis of healthcare eligibility requirements for 5G/6G, data sovereignty and advanced computing capacity. The work was conducted through workshops, interviews and technical studies in close collaboration between the parties. The schedule was followed and the collaboration worked well, without major deviations or unexpected obstacles.
